Professional Diploma Training and Continued Professional Development 

 

THE CENTRE FOR GENDER PSYCHOLOGY offers training in approaches that provide students with a sound theoretical base and a set of tools that really work.

Our trainings develop competencies in Gender Psychology, systemic relational therapy and somatic-sexual therapy, which students can specialize in or apply to their current practices. Our dynamic theoretical and methodological teachings go beyond those available in conventional psychotherapy and counselling programmes. They are conceived to help workers to diagnose from a living contextual framework, so that they can become confident workers, understanding and negotiating complex sexual transference and counter-transference issues to make effective interventions.

Syllabuses are available on application. Many of these programmes are offered in-house to other training organisations, and we invite enquiries from organizations as well as individuals.

Entry Level: 

Introductory Professional Training & CPD courses: "Gender, Identity, Sexuality & Ground"

 

These cutting-edge courses in gender identity, relationship and sexuality in mixed groups are applicable for those in the counselling, psychotherapeutic, medical, healing, helping and teaching professions. These courses can be taken as taster of our work, but are also a prerequisite for further training with us or for Sexual Grounding Therapy International trainings. The are run over two weekends or a 4/5-day block and are often run as in-house modules for training organisations.

Creative CoupleWork

Couple therapy is the most rapidly expanding counselling field, backed by many government and religious bodies. Some therapists either stay away from this discipline out of their fear of conflict, or alternatively, offer it without having had proper training. Neither of these approaches is likely to work. When practiced creatively, Couplework is the most effective healing therapy and can do immediate good to individuals, couples and families.

Since its inception, the Centre for Gender Psychology has specialized in developing practical approaches to couplework that build on the best of psycho-dynamic, synthetic, and psycho-spiritual methods and include the latest advances in somatic-sexual therapy and neuro-psychology. Unlike courses offered by some providers, these trainings are highly specialized and have evolved over a decade of training professional couple-counsellors and nearly 20 years of training psychotherapists. We aim to teach students to work extremely effectively with couples, since we need good couple workers to service the referral enquiries we receive through our popular book, Sex Love & the Dangers of Intimacy.

We currently offer diploma training in the UK and in Scandinavia. Applications are invited from qualified individual therapists or counsellors, new or experienced couple-counsellors, and senior trainees. We also welcome applications from those with different but allied experience, who may wish to train as Relationship Coaches.
 

Diploma Training in Creative CoupleWork, in London, UK

This is a post-graduate diploma training, comprising eight weekends, plus tutorial/ supervision small group meetings, over two years.

Sexual Grounding Therapy for professionals

For those who wish to have an experience of this radically different way of working with sexuality, parenting, relationship and identity issues we highly recommend Sexual Grounding Therapy. It is worthwhile for qualified therapists, but especially important for those who currently wish to proceed in a professional direction towards couple therapy, psycho-sexual therapy, or for intended Relationship Coaches.
